LNTNZ & the Kathmandu 2021 Coast to Coast.

This past Friday and into the weekend, saw LNT board members come together at Klondyke Corner in Arthurs Pass, to support the Kathmandu Coast to Coast 2021 event.

As a Service Race Partner, we provided expertise and support to ensure an event that brought thousands of people together, left little existing trace on the environment.

With record numbers signed up this year, it was an exciting day hosting a stand and scavenger hunt to locate the 7 LNT Principals.

Congratulations to all the participants and support crew!

Over the following weekend, we held our BOT meetings in Christchurch. With members sitting on our board from Auckland, Rotorua, Nelson, Hokitika and Christchurch, the opportunity to get together face to face was fantastic. We used our time reflecting on our achievements from 2020, and creating business goals for this year ahead.

Thanks given to the NZ Alpine Club (NZAC) for the use of their inspiring library space, adorned with relics of many great climbers past.

Moving forward, we are excited to sink our teeth, ice axes, tramping boots or paddles…. into supporting our mission: “Promoting and inspiring responsible travel and outdoor recreation through education, research and partnerships”

A reminder that coming up in February 20 & 21st, we will be running our first LNT trainer Course of the year in the Waitakere Ranges. https://leavenotrace.org.nz/blog/

BOT members Christian Martin, Cassandra Colman, Alex Warriner, Richard Wesley, Gayle Newman and Chris North.
